Resolved Question

Can someone offer advice for older JVD digital video camera?

Jan 5, 2012 3:31AM PST

I haven't used my JVC digital video camera in a few years (JVC GR-DVL820U) the battery is dead and I don't own a charger. I was going to sell it cables and all as-is, but first I need to get my old tape out of the device. It won't eject without power, I feel silly asking but is there ANY way around this, to get my tape out before selling the camera? Happy Thanks so much.

Since there is rarely a manual eject we are left to take the machine apart to get the tape out. Not a great loss since 2002 or 9 year old camcorders are not fetching much today.

Thanks!

Understandable. But I figured it would fetch at least a little, it has a nice carrying case, the USB cable, monster cable, tapes and everything, and works great too I was hoping not to have to disable the machine Happy However maybe I'll just pick up a new battery, I see now they are cheap. Thanks so much for the reply!

It's some other model but the battery was not required when I plugged it in to the adapter.

Ohh, that's what I don't have here. An adapter. Darn darn. I'll try to dig for it, I wonder if I ever had it. This was an open box purchase in '04. Thanks a lot!

How did you charge that battery?

Mine was some odd affair where you pulled the battery out to some other place, but it does not matter. How would you charge a battery?

I'm still looking for adapter, I think I'll be cracking open a bottle of wine and making a night of it, lol. I see they have a generic battery/charger for pretty cheap online that is supposed to work for this model... I may just get this thing working. And if I have no use for it after I recover my tape, sell it off more complete and recoup what I can.
