Can smartphones bend in front pockets while bending?

Can smartphones bend in front pockets while bending or sitting considering today's smartphones have big screens of 6 to 6.5 inches?

Yes and No

Sure they can bend, however once bent they might be damaged beyond repair and won't be covered by any manufacturer's warranty. The issue with the iPhone "Bend-gate" a few years ago comes to mind.

Just take the phone out of your pocket if you expect you might be bending over to be safe.

Have to answer yes.

And in current phones this is bad for many reasons. Also since you didn't detail if the pocket had give or slack space then for a baggy shorts pocket it won't be stressed but the point remains. If you bend your phone you eventually will have a bad day.

I have carried phones in the front pant jean pocket for years. not a bend in sight. just make sure it is not a phone with sharp corners and no tight pants.

You can avoid it.

You can avoid it by simply buying jeans/trousers/shorts which have a huge size pocket. It can also be avoided by wearing you jeans/shorts/trousers low waist(not extremely just in alignment with waist bone). Try this your phone will never bend unless you are carrying a tablet, then you have to carry some kind of bag with it.
