Can running ComboFix harm my PC?

Oct 6, 2008 4:54AM PDT

I have been asked to run combofix and post the log on to a forum. After reading posts here about combofix it seems like a dangerous tool. If I just run combofix and save the log without doing anything, is there any possibility that I can harm my PC? And, is there any issues with running combofix on Vista? Thank you.

Due to the power of this tool it is strongly advised that you do not attempt to act upon any of the information displayed by ComboFix without supervision from someone who has been properly trained. If you do so, it may lead to problems with the normal functionality of your computer.

Thanks Marianna,

I had read this link, but was wondering if there may be problems/tips that are not discussed there, that the user should be aware of.

Thanks.
