Can PDAs be connected to external HDs & used as stereo syst?

Dear all,

I have a 120Gb external hard drive with USB 2.0, filled with music. I am trying to make it into a complete stereo system, and I was thinking that connecting it to a PDA, and then connecting the PDA to a set of speakers would do the trick. I have it connected to a laptop right now, but the laptop fan is very loud, so I am looking for a cheap, SILENT alternative.

But my question is: Is it feasible?

Are there PDAs out there that have USB ports, and which would allow me to browse large amount of music and play it with good quality (no skipping, etc).

If so, which do you recommend?

Only a few PDAs did this. Here's one.
