I got th driver CD out and looked up the Readme section and I did just as it said to remove the driver theough the ADD/Remove Programs then shut down the computer and remove the modem. I said what the heck and hit the remove icon on the CD and it removed the SM56 modem from the register. No more warming!
I recently changed my orerating systen from windows 98 SE to Windows XP Media Center. I was using a dialup Motorola SM65 PCI Modem. I was using the Windows 2000 driver for the modem and for the most part it worked OK except on occusation I would get the blue screen that the computer was doing a memory dump. I went to Verizon DSL and removed the modem from the computer and now I do not get the blue screen. I removed the modem from device manager and the driver through ADD Remove Programs in control panel.I now get a warning that says Motorola SM56 PCI Modem and the warning says ?Can not register with SM56 driver.Press OK to exit? How can I get rid of this warning? Any help would be grateful. Herb
