Resolved Question

can no longer log in to laptop ?

Hello & Thanks;
windows8, x64, asus laptop
I took the 'install win 8 updates'.
And since that, I can no longer log in.
login asks me to login using last password used.
I always used the same password.
How can I get in to the system?
laptop only has a hardDrive, no cd.
usb port = yes.
Is there a way to get laptop to run in dos.
And even if I did,
is there a password file somewhere ?

If your password is a Windows account

you can use any device and a web browser and attempt to login to that account. Then there should be steps to correct a forgotten password. If you have ever downloaded from the store you need the MS account. Even if you have a MS account you can login using a local account. SO you should be able to create a MS account if you dont and one or change the PW if that is the PW that is wrong.
