The current repair systems may not allow jury rigging like that.
My Windows 10 HP Notebook 15-ac157cl (Touch)(Energy Star) had a issue today. The LED screen cracked recently (the outside layer appears fine) and I contacted HP support. They told me my warranty would give a discount fee of $260 to replace the touchscreen.
That price is very expensive to me since the PC itself cost $500 to buy. I asked the assistant if it was possible to have the screen replaced by a non-touchscreen instead to which is answer was that it was impossible. Yet in the end he said he would contact his manager and get back with me in a few days with the non-touchscreen idea.
Do you guys know if this assistant is incorrect about the non-touchscreen idea? Any suggestions about what I should do if I cannot get my idea or not?
