Question

Can I watch SMART tv on pc without wireless?

Jan 3, 2015 7:30PM PST

Hi, Just wondering, I spend all day on pc for work, but the work one isn't wireless, its got the cable from the router (as you can tell, I know nothing).
Is there a way, I can watch stuff on my PC from the TV like it allows for my smart phone, without wireless?

A wireless connection doesn't offer anything not offered by a wired connection, except that's is slower and doesn't need a cable. So if you can't do it wired, you can't do it wireless.

If you don't believe this, just find a friend with a laptop, take him to your work and let him try to sjhow the smart TV on his laptop.

I was meaning with out cables too, the tele is connected to the wireless router, the computers are connected to the same router with cable, was checking if as the TV registers on "my network" type thing on the computer, is there a way to see whats on the tv on the computer through that type of thing?

In short.

Only if the TV offers such a feature. Here, in the USA it's often blocked due to agreements so here, the answer is mostly no.

I see Kees hit the network part of the question but for the TV, it must offer such and then folk continue to not read the fine print. That is, even if it did it may not work on HDMI inputs or apps like Netflix.

Yes, depending on TV model, features, and if:

1. TV and pc are on same wired network you could run media server on the pc
2. Use wifi direct to connect to tv with your phone
3. plug in usb drive into tv
