You may have already figured this out since your posting was a few weeks ago. You can look on ebay and buy a phone that specifies that it is for Verizon, Cingular, etc. My husband did that so that he wouldn't have to sign a new contract. All you have to do is activate it which is easy enough. Only thing I would suggest is that if you use ebay, find someone with a good feedback rating (I go with 98% or higher) and has A LOT of feedback which translates to lots of sales. Again, make sure it is compatible with whichever network you use.
Currently off contract and want to stay that way. My daughter lost her phone and I'm looking for a way to purchase an economical replacement without getting a contract. Can I buy a prepaid phone from the same company and just switch out sim cards? Drawbacks?
