Given that setup I would try the Analog pass-thru of the MiniDV camera that I connected to my PC with FIREWIRE. Now I would connect the video out of the analog camera to the video in of the minidv camera, remove the tape in the minidv camera and run WINDV (google.com) to digitize the analog content.
From those files we can use almost any good video editor.
I need to get a digital video converter to convert my 8mm analog tapes into digital & make home movies with our Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus Software. I have a Dell dimension 2400 computer & a Panasonic PV-GS35 digital camcorder, and A Sony analog camcorder. Will any converter work? (Plextor, Pinnacle's, etc?)
If so, should I steer clear of Pinnacle's converter? I've read bad reviews about Pinnacle's stuff, although I have had no problems with their studio 9 plus. Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking to make this purchase asap.
