Question

Can I use an old email address as an alias for a new account

Sep 26, 2013 2:04AM PDT

I deleted an Exchange 2007 email account from mailboxes and disconnected mailboxes. I created a new account using a different mailbox name. I added the old account email address as an alias in the new account. I can email the new account but not the alias (old account email address). When I email the alias (old account address) I receive an undeliverable error message. It seems like it is looking for the old account that has been deleted. I have updated the off line address book and can see the the alias is connected to the new account using the "get-recipient" command?
