can i use an extention lead

i'm trying to get on aol broadband. My computer is about 6 meteres from the main phone line, i've tried an telephone ex lead, but the green DSL light just flickers on and off,what can i do there's no way i can move my computer closer, thanks darren.

Your post tells the answer. You can't use what you have.

BUT the story may be that your DSL has never worked and as such that could be the real story?

i,ve only just had my com and modem do u think its the extension lead it would work with that would'nt it thanks darren

Since it doesn't work, the question is self-answering.
