Resolved Question

Can I upgrade to Windows 7?

Jan 6, 2012 3:54AM PST

I have a Pavilion desktop D4100Y, an older model from 2005, running Windows XP SP 2. I am having so much trouble with HP Updates Agent that I am thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 just to get rid of that program (somehow). However, I cannot find any information on the HP tech support site about whether my computer could run Windows 7 or whether it is a better choice for me.

Does anyone have any informed views on whether Windows 7 would be compatible with a Pavilion D4100Y (max memory and lots of HD space, running a small wired LAN and a wireless network with broadband access to the Internet). Would it be a better choice than Windows XP?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Susan
