Can I upgrade my Media Center 2004 to 2005

by mmshgs / January 20, 2006 11:22 PM PST

I have an HP m260n pentium 4 with Media Center 2004. I have an xbox360 that I want to use with the my Media Center PC (which they heavely promote that it does) However they don't mention that it only works with MCE 2005 not 2004.

So now I have been trying to find out if I can and how to upgrade to MCE 2005. I have seen on the web people say they have gotten the disc from HP or elsewhere and done so, but I called HP and they said I needed to talk to microsoft and Microsoft said talk to HP.

So can I upgrade to MCE 2005 and is that recommended over just getting a new Media center pc running 2005?

Thanks for your help.
