Question

Can I save FREE AVG onto a floppy to install in another PC?

Dec 8, 2011 3:24PM PST

My friend has a virus in her PC so that she can't access the Internet. She's been told she has to take the PC in to a retailer to get the virus removed -- and pay $99.00. I have free AVG and LOVE it. Can I download FREE AVG from CNET onto a DVD... and if yes, can she then install it and/or run it on her PC from the disk? How would she install it? I don't know which version of Windows she uses -- probably XP, and she uses IE 7. I can get more info from her if I know what to ask her. Thanks!

Thanks so much for your FAST and HELPFUL reply! I figured it probably could be done somehow, but i didn't want to be accused of pirating AVG Free by copying it and then installing it offline. I also didn't want to offer her false hope that I might be able to help her and then find out that I could not.

I will insist that once my friend's PC is able to connect once again to the Internet, she download the original AVG Free so she'll have the links and access to updates.

Thank you again! And thanks for making AVG Free and allowing "little people" like me to use it!
