Can I run a wholesale business on a mac?

Apr 29, 2008 11:41AM PDT

Hello all, I currently own a dell xps but I?m thinking in switching to mac. My question is can I run my business on a mac.

My business consist in selling supplies to different companies and managing their cafeterias. I would need to be able to create quotes, manage inventories, employees, food costs etc....

All my costumers run pc?s. Please advice me if it would be a wise move or not and if you decide that is a go software suggestions are welcome.

Thank you all.

It can be done. Macs can do great for general business use.

But a Windows system will also do great, and should be able to keep using the software you/your employees are used to running.

E.g., Quickbooks is a couple hundred dollars, depending which version you use. Coupled with the higher purchase cost of a mac, plus having to either rebuy software or invest in Parallels or the like, the cost could be double in Mac what it is in Vista for a new system.

On the other hand, your quality of life (and non-business tasks) could be double+ in MacOS and well worth the switch. I never encounter people with Macs who regret their choice.
