Can I run a MacBook AND a Studio Desktop on a Dell SP2309W?

Obviously not at the same time...

Assuming that only one of them is ever powered up at any given time, can I just leave the MacBook plugged in via DVI and the PC via HDMI and select whichever input I need? I don't have the PC yet to try this, and want to make sure there's a way they can share the monitor without constant plugging and unplugging before I spend the money.

Thanks for your help.
