Can I Redo a DVD and insert titles?

Jan 16, 2005 10:51AM PST

I have a +R DVD with 3 different family events that was burned as a single "movie"! In fact no titles show on the DVD when loaded, but it does play when I click the first blank title box. In order to get to show #3 one cannot use the FFWD feature since it stops the video and returns to the beginning. The only way to see show #3 is to play thru the 1st 65 minutes and then watch it! I have since found that the family member who recorded these videos (no longer alive) also has several additional DVDs in the same condition.

My question is this..... Can someone suggest/outline the best procedure involved in re-doing these DVDs in the proper manner. I think what I want to do would be to re-edit the DVDs with editing software and then burn the new DVD. Am I on the right track here? I have a somewhat barebones computer: 1.1 GHz Celeron/128 Ram/20 GigHD/with shared video memory/

a little underpowered for the job. Check hardware requirements before you buy software.

On the road I have edited CCTV video with my p3-600 256MB Windows 2000 based laptop that I have a 40GB hard disk in. So your machine is light on RAM and disk space.

Look at the latest Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 which claims you can edit such a DVD. I have not tested this yet.
