Question

Can I recover photos from a S3 after factory reset?

Dec 15, 2014 7:23PM PST

Hi guys,

So basically my mother isn't very tech savvy and somehow managed to do a factory reset of her phone without taking backups of the photos first. Now it turns out that she actually needs those photos. I'm not familiar with data recovery on mobile devices and I don't want to screw it up any more so if someone could walk me through it that'd be greatly appreciated. The photos were recently taken and the phone hasn't really been used after the reset. After doing a Google search all I get are websites telling me to download their software and they'll take care of the rest (presumably after I pay them money). What can I do?

Thanks in Advance.

So far all have been scams.

And a few posts like yours have been schills so if you didn't find any demo version that's a shame. You can ask drivesavers or for free, take this as the lesson learned and move forward.

You need to download a program on your PC, such as Dr Fone and hook your phone to your PC. It will then scan your files. Don't ever reset your phone, it may do more harm than good.

If you google ANDROID DATA RECOVERY you'll find a lot of programs, as you say. As Bob said: don't pay for these shareware programs until, from their demo mode, you know they do the job for you. Good reviews are an indication, but no guarantee.

What else to do than try?

And, basically, why not learn your mother to how to back up?
