Can I re-install Office safely ?

Oct 19, 2005 3:04PM PDT

Hi

I must have some sort of virus, but Norton doesn't think so. In my Office applications, any time I need to find a file, and click the down arrow beside 'Look in', it takes a long time to come back. It might take a minute or more. You might say that is not a long time, but you must aggree that it is longer than expected. What is it doing ? I don't get this delay in non-Office applications.

Anyway, I think I will just unInstall Office, then re-Install it. I'm happy to do this. But I am a little worried that I would lose all my documents when I unInstall Office.

Do you think I would lose my documents ?

Thanks
Robert

Antivirus causing delay.

When you try to open an office file the file is subjected to virus check which causes some delay. If you are experiencing abnormal delay try defragmenting your drive and see the result. You do not stand to lose your documents nor even your shortcuts if you choose to detect and repair Office from the help menu of office programs.
