Can I put two sims in one phone and have them BOTH work?

Sep 8, 2004 1:20PM PDT

Here's the deal, I own a phone with AT&T GSM service and my company now requires me to carry a phone with AT&T GSM as well. Is there a way I can get both of those sims in one phone and have BOTH numbers active at the SAME time? All of the solutions that I have found so far require me to put the adapter in my phone and shut off the phone to use the other sim/number. Is there an easier way to do this? What phones support dual sims and/or dual numbers? Any ideas? ...Anyone?

It is possible at least with some phone models. Certain Nokia phones have the possibility to add a small SIM adapter layer that goes between the phone and the batterypack. It can hold two sim cards. These sims are connected with a flat cable to a third (SIM adapter) inside the phones original sim slot.

This enables the use of personal and company sims at the same time. The phone also shows which number is receiving the incoming call.

These go-between-backpacks are probably hard to find, but you can ask your local dealer. Most likely he has not even heard of such things.
