Question

Can I put everything form my System to SD card?

Jan 31, 2015 9:43PM PST

I just bought a Samsung galaxy tab 3 lite 7. I only have 8 GB of storage what was not enough for me, so I bought a SD card of 16 GB. Still i am not able to put all the apps to the SD card. So I plugged it in to my computer. I see 2 folders: one is tablet and the other is card. Can i open the tablet file and cut -> paste everything to the SD card without doing any harm to the tablet or its performance or guaranty?

Thanks in advance.

With Google's change to remove the move to SD card the Android OS is moving away from apps on the SD card. It's now more of a bulk storage area.

So...

So I have the following folders on the tablet:
-Alarms
-App2sd
-DCIM
-domobile
-Media
-Music
-Pictures
-Podcasts
-TMemmo
-Android
-cleanmaster
-Documents
-Download
-Movies
-Notifications
-Playlists
-Ringtones
-zedge

Is there anything I can copy and paste to the SD card without harming my tab?

Let's define harm.

For some newer users if I move pictures from onboard to SD Card they will freak out that the pictures are gone from the Gallery app (https://www.google.com/search?q=android+gallery&biw=1536&bih=730&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=YVrOVMH9Hs7ooASogILYBg&ved=0CEUQ7Ak )

The pictures are fine but many owners are just that. They would consider it harm if they had to browse for the media.

Same goes for documents, downloads, movies, etc.

Android is the new Windows. Far from perfect and demanding the users learn a lot more than they expected.

Thanks! I will just leave it the way it is then. I did find an option that the device saves the pictures to the SD card automatically.

Once again thanks Happy.

Be sure to define "harm" when dealing with so many folk.

Some will tell you harmed their device if the stock player doesn't show the media when moved. Moving apps is a thing of the past now as Android moves forward.

I do not think that we put all apps into the SD card.

Indeed

Indeed not all apps can be pulled to the SD card but most of them work. From the apps i have downloaded about 70% could be transferred to the card.

Move to SD card

I did exactly that. I copied and pasted everything. Quite a few apps, however, remained on the phone. These are the ones that cannot work from the card. This is a good thing to do when your phone has no more space, and you need to reset it. You copy everything to the card, you backup your contacts to the simcard, and factory reset the phone. It is amazing how much space you will have after.

Well if your device is rooted then you can use apps like Gl to sd to move your games and apps data to sd card and use them by mounting with the app, i used to play huge games on my old 2gb phone with gl to sd, it helps you a lot i think. so try it out once. also foldermount and some xposed modules like obb on sd will be helpful.
