get the 5V adapter, because its what the drive is spec'd for, 6V is too much, and 4.5V might result in sub-par performance or data errors, basically its opening you up for a whole field of errors that computers aren't ever expected to have
I have misplaced my power supply for my external floppy drive and I need to find a replacement for it. The floppy drive is a superdisk usb drive for macintosh from imation. It states that it accepts an input of 5vdc (5 volts direct current). I have looked around to find a universal power adapter than can handle from 3v to 12v power supplies, but some supplies only offer 4.5v and 6v. Would it be ok to power this device with only 4.5v instead of 5v? Is 6v too high for the device?
I can get an adapter that has 5v output, but the one I found has only 4.5v and 6v and is much cheaper. If I can get away with 4.5v, I would rather do that.
Thanks!
