Maybe. For me I tend to do this with "Virtual Box" since I can move the VM from machine to machine with impunity.

Add some other operating systems like older windows or try out some Linux distros. There's a smorgasbord of free Linux distros to have fun with. Links and info to them all available and popularity ratings at Distrowatch. You don't have to hate one to love the other, you can have fun with both.
