Question

Can I fool the system by bypassing it somehow. THANKS

Apr 8, 2016 5:41PM PDT

I put a tape in to rewind. Not sure exactly what happened. But the TV went into some kind of emergency mode and shut off because the tape would not eject. So I had to dissect it in order to get the tape out. I'm not worried about the VCR it's no longer any good I had to take all the parts out in order to get it out. My problem is now every time I cut the TV on it immediately says it's ejecting and it shuts back off within 20 seconds. Is there a way to bypass this mode? I seen where somebody had this issue back in 2007 however they were in a different forum. How do I resolve the problem so that I can at least use the TV

That's going back some, but I remember they had an "eye" that would see the clear part on end of VCR tape. A piece of tape to block the eye worked. Best since it's not needed is to just pull the power fitting from the VCR motherboard.

Can you give me a description and a proximity to the location of it? I've covered several things but nothing seems to work yet. If this was mounted on the bottom motherboard then I covered it. If this part is a floating part Batman and somewhere in the middle of the VCR tape area. Then it was removed and I'm trying to put it back.

It's along the tape tracking

There are reading heads, and near one is usually a small light and a optical eye, but some old VCR's only used the backup resistance of the motor no longer pulling tape which created a spike and cut triggered the eject. As Rob said, without a manual, I can't say exactly. I just mentioned general information that could help.
