So instead og buying a new motherboard for ddr4 i should stick to ddr3 and get 16 gb? I have a SSD but i just need to increase from 8 to 16 gb

I have some 8 and 16GB machines and the step up is not a big payoff. What makes you think this will give you much of a boost?

Ddr 3 only.

If you want 16GB you will need two 2x4GB kits.
