Can I connect PC to TV for internet TV Programs?

I want to connect my PC to my flat screen TV. I don't want to just use the TV as a monitor; I want to
watch/stream HD internet TV and Netflix. I have HDMI from the PC GPU card and an HDMI input on the back of the TV. The TV also has a VGA connection. Do I still need a special
box, such as Roku or Apple TV? Thanks for any info.

Re:TV to PC Connection

Starksjr, Thanks for all the good info! I like the idea of the wireless keyboard and mouse! I didn't think Cat 5 cable was compatible with HDMI....Well, its been 11 years since I last worked in electrical at Home Depot. Lol. Why 2 Cat 5 cables? Are the HDMI connections on the wall outlet pretty self explanatory?

One other question, does the HDMI outlet on the GPU card also carry the audio to the TV? I know that HDMI can carry both audio/video.... Or do I need to connect a separate cable for sound?
