Can I burn music onto a DVD-R

Jun 2, 2006 4:12PM PDT

Hello,

I am burning music for a company picnic and I need about 6 hours worth of music. I don't want to have to keep switching out 80 minute cd's, so I wanted to put the music on a disc with more capacity. Can audio be burned onto a dvd-r and will it play in a regular stereo after burning. I am assuming that if the answer is yes, the dvd-R will hold about 120 minutes of music.

I would appreciate your help. Thanks!

"it is almost assured you did not create an AudioDVD (?!) then ripping is going to fail. Look at the DVD with explorer and see if your files are there."

optical storage

I am purchasing a new pc
either Gateway sx2840-01 or Dell Inspiron i5808nbc
Will the optical storage in the Gateway & Dell do essentially the same thing or is there a major difference between the 2.

also would there be a noticeable difference between the i3 and i5

Thank you
Mike

Since this is in some very old discussion I'll keep it short.

The i3 is a fine choice. The i5 plus a dedicated GPU would be a gamer's choice.
