Can i add CD-Text when ripping my cd's to the computer

Feb 16, 2006 1:35AM PST

I decided i wanted to rip about 20 cds's to my computer so i can change them into mp3 format to be played in my car. My problem is that the CD's are old and when i start up my ripping software all i get is Track 1, Track 2 ect. I do not get the artist, song title or album name. Is this because the discs are old and there is no cd text on them? Is there a way around this? If i was to manually type and change the title from say track 1 to the actual song title would it burn it and would i be able to see it on my player in the car. If there is a way around me having to type in all the track titles please let me know. thanks for all the help. marc
