Can I adapt UConnect for 07 Jeep Wrangler Unltd w/out MyGig?

Can I use the adaptor kit to make UConnect work on my 07 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited WITHOUT having MyGig? My Jeep just has the standard radio that comes with the Jeep. I've read some of the other posts regarding the UConnect/Wrangler issue but they all refer to MyGig. Please answer if you can as I'd love to be able to use the UConnect feature without purchasing the MyGig. Thanks much.
