Try copying this to an USB 2.0 drive and try again. Many folk have reported issues with Samsung TVs and USB 3.0 drives. Sometimes changing it to some USB 2.0 cable clears it up, other times you format the drive and copy the content back over.
This area is full of folk asking why. So far Samsung hasn't been telling what's up.
I have a Samsung TV (model no: UA50HU7000U), and have been watching movies/series off a HDD plugged into the USB 3.0 port. I have left the HDD in there for months and it has been working like a charm, until today.
I get the error message: "request cannot be completed. you'll be returned to the main screen" every time I try access the HDD.
I've plugged the HDD into my PC and it seems to be working just fine.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it?
