Did you check if the message applies?
What is the SSID of your wireless router? And does your wireless network setup find more networks with that same SSID? Or only yours?

I have an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless G510n-z and a laptop on Windows 7. I've read a lot of issues with the wireless capabilities on this particular printer, but some people actually succeed. I'm hoping to be one of them, but I can't figure out this error message during setup!
I've printed a Network Config report, as well as a Wireless Settings report. I've also accessed my CSD to confirm my Gateway Default IP address.
Unfortunately, I'm not super tech savvy, so any layman terms step-by-step guides are so greatly appreciated!
When I follow the setup wizard, I keep getting this error:
<div>
"The PC and the printer are connected to different networks (lists 2 long sequences of # and letters). They must be connected to the same network. This can happen when you see the manufacturer's default network name (SSID) and another nearby network is using the same name."
