Can AirPort Express connect to a network drive via USB?

Nov 14, 2007 5:58AM PST

I'm getting an AirPort Express Station for my iMac, which only accepts the original AirPort card, to connect to my wireless network. I know that you can use this Base Station's USB port to connect to a printer and use that over the network with the shared printers' features, etc., but I would rather use it for an external HD.
I want to share an external through this allowing it to be accessed by all of my machines. This way, I don't have to unplug it from each machine as I store stuff on it and I can share all of the music and video files that I have to work on between my Macs. I hate using flash drives to the job, since I have to open programs, copy files, check to make sure it works... unplug that, walk to my other machine... yeah, it can be a pain even if you have 4GB flash drives to do the job.

This may sound dumb since I know what to do, but will this work? According to all of the reviews I've read on it, the USB port can be used for the print service, but there's no mention of using it for something else. I'm sure it can be used for this purpose, but I'd like to hear others' opinions too. Much appreciated.
