Can a Windows 7 Admin find out other users passwords?

Dec 8, 2009 3:27AM PST

I've got Windows 7 on my laptop and I am the administrator.
My boyfriend also has an account on my laptop, but just as a standard user.
Am I able to find out his password?

Windows will not let you find out such information, although you can access all of his files. However, you can reset his password, gaining access to his username. In addition, it is possible to crack Windows passwords under certain conditions, given enough time. Thus, denying physical access is always the first step to securing your data.
