can a new S3 screen be replaced with a used S3?

I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy 3 that I dropped the day I bought it. I need to replace my cracked screen and was wondering if a used S3 that is a different model can be used to replace it. Mine is a Canadian manufactured i747 and the used one is an American L710. I only have a day to purchase the used model so any information would be greatly appreciated.
