No. The laser rangefinder works on the time of flight principle. A camera lens may focus a beam of light for a short distance but when it reaches the infinity stop any measurement would be meaningless.
Can a camera lens project a beam of light that is able to detect the distance from an object; similarly to how laser rangefinders can give a distance measurement?
