You'll have to supply a make and model.

There are drives that are just players.

I DOUBT A ROM ONLY DRIVE WILL DO DVD RECORDING..............

HOWEVER, SONY'S NEW LINE OF "ALL-IN-ONE" VAIO "VGC-LT3xE" computers

do come equipped with a BLU-RAY "recorder/play" drive.

Prices start at about $1,299.00 MSRP; and go up from there.

J & R ELECTRONICS of NYC carries these models at a decent discount!!!

Try 'VAIO; VGC-LT32E' or http://www.sonystyle.com

See computers.

Best wishes,

River.

In my experience, ROM stands for Read Only Memory. You probably need another drive that has writing capeabilities to make cds/dvds.

Although the specification is not very exact, but...

my guess is that it does write to dvd/cd in this case (My interpretation of what I see only).
