Camera to replace Sony DCR-TRV950

Mar 30, 2011 6:46AM PDT

Hello,

I am looking for a camera to replace my office's old Sony DCR-TRV950 as it has started warping the tapes and making them completely useless. I use it for filming interviews and seminars (about two hours non-stop), and to perform live webcasts about once a week (via USB, so a camera with web-streaming capability is absolutely necessary).

I have looked at the specs and was wondering if I have to look specifically for a CCD camera? I would also like to move away from MiniDV tapes, but I've heard that HD is reasonably unreliable, and it's very important that I don't lose any of the footage as I can't re-shoot. Also, a camera with an XLR input would be beneficial.

Thank you very much for your help,

NS
