Camera suggestions

Sep 3, 2015 11:53AM PDT

I'm looking to purchase a camera to use while I study abroad and travel for a few months next year. I know very little about cameras and am wondering if anyone has suggestions for a camera that is under $275, good for taking photos of landscapes and tourist sites, and that has good photo quality. Preferably something that is budget friendly, with quality that is close to that of a dslr camera. Thank you!

I should probably mention that I'm from Canada, so unfortunately this camera is $360 for me.

At your amazon site, look at best sellers there. What's #1, 2, etc.?

Those are models I've seen advised here.

If the budget allows, skip the SX160 so you are down to 3 models. Look at pictures, reviews on those at the usual Steve's Digicams site. http://www.steves-digicams.com/

After reading the reviews the Fujifilm finepix S4800 seems like the best camera for both the cost, and for what I'd use it for. It also seems easy to use for beginner photographers. Thank you for your input!
