Finding a replacement for the Z915 will be very difficult.
It takes excellent pictures.
We didn't realize it at the time it was released by Kodak;
it has very good specifications for a small camera.
10 MP, 10X zoom, f3.5 lens and it has manual controls.
More megapixels turns out to be problematic because of noise issues.
Anything over 12 MP generates too much noise.
12 MP is borderline - depending upon how heavy handed the manufacturer applies noise reduction firmware.
Optical zoom over 10X needs a tripod for good results.
Is it possible to fix the Z915?
It may just need to be reset to factory specifications.
If you need a replacement - take a look at the Canon SX130 IS and see if it meets your requirements.

I've had this camera for well over a year. I really loved it when I got it. I found the pictures to be clear, and the camera to be easily managed.
Unfortunately, this camera has kicked the bucket, and it's time for another. I would like to upgrade, but I'm not sure how far to go. I'd like a cam that I'll keep for 2-3 years. I'd like to take some shots that are high enough resolution to be printed on a canvas of perhaps 20*20.
One thing I don't like about some cameras is the time between pushing the button and actually capturing the picture (lag time?), so Id like one that responds quickly.
I'd like something that's $100-350 purchased new, and I'm open to buying a used camera.
Please drop some specific recommendations, and 'warnings' (what to stay away from. If you have time to give reasons, that would be nice too.
Thanks in advance.
