Camera not recognized?

by OzBo / June 16, 2008 6:42 AM PDT

Hi.
Well, the subject is probably not quite right.
The problem is that when I connect the camera to my laptop with Vista, the USB connection comes up in the "Safely Remove Hardware" thing in the taskbar, and it does recognize it as a camera, all that, BUT the new drive with the images just doesn't appear in My Computer. It is just not there.

The camera is OK, I tried my old computer with XP and the folder with the images does come up when I connect the camera.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks,
Bo

for updated drivers or firmware... some cameras do not work with Vista without updates.

Mine had no updates nor planned any...so I had to buy a Vista compatible camera.

Sorry!

Actually, it didn't come with a driver at all, so there are no updates either. Sad
I guess I will have to try a card reader, as anmor suggested, or use the camera with my desktop and XP...
How much is a card reader?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
