General discussion

camera in a fire

Jun 10, 2005 8:18AM PDT

My digital still camera was in my apartment during a fire. There are some pix on the memory stick I'd really like to recover. Anyone out there ever seen a burned memory stick, and/or been able to retrieve images from it? Thanks.

Memory Stick from a fire

I would clean up the memory stick as well as possible and take it to a local WalMart and use one of the self-service photo printing machines.

If the photos are still intact, you will be able to see the files on the card.

If you can, while you are at WalMart, buy a card reader that can read memory sticks. Install the card reader on your computer and you are back in business.

Or you can give the memory stick to one of the clerks in the camera department and have prints made.
