Question

Camera for TV

Aug 9, 2016 4:37PM PDT

I just purchased a 65 inch curved TV, UN65KS8500, and want to add a camera to use with Skype. I know Samsung has discontinued the Skype app, but we can access Skype over the WebBroswer. Will it work and can I purchase a camera on someplace like Amazon (they sell the Samsung STC5000) and will it plug into the camera slot on the back of the TV and work? If not, will any other camera work?

Answer
Sorry. Nope.

Microsoft has ended Skype for now. And the TV only knew about the camera you found.

I never heard that Samsung discontinued Skype and the web browser is so limited my answer is again no.

Skype comes up on the web browser and appears to work as it loads all of our information. But clearly I do not know if the camera will work.
