Nice list.

Just last week I was in a museum and no flash photography was allowed so the ability to turn off the flash was IMPORTANT.

We could go other items one by one but could you skip to your concerns are? That is, are you looking for a Kodak Brownie type camera?

Yes. well I am doing a study to find out what camera features are absolutely Essential vs. Irrelevant for the everyday digital camera user.

When you say "Kodak Brownie type" what exactly do you mean by that?

I think you need to try other forums as POLLS rarely work in the CNET forums.

The Kodak Brownie is a well known camera and it's simplicity was key to its success. Your list is nice but for each one there is a time, place, situation or a person that would find an item indispensable. I supplied ONE just for an example.

Other folk may require in camera edit features because they are phobic about editing in the Apple or PC apps. Some folk need that or a few (many?) use those Photo print stations at the usual outlets to edit, crop, etc. The popularity of those caught the makers unaware.
