Camera advice - please chime in!

I'm an aspiring photojournalist who loves taking pictures of people (candids, portraits, etc)

I'm looking at the Canon Digital Rebel XT and was wondering what other similar alternative I can consider. (Canon Digital Rebel, Nikon D70, etc)

One reason I chose Canon is that it's featured on cnet haha. Also, I like how for the lens, you turn anti-clockwise to zoom in, versus Nikon where you turn clockwise to zoom in.
Only problem is, the grip for the Rebel XT is a bit small (and i have small hands!) so I worry about the stability when taking shots.

Any suggestions?

Canon - Nikon

Apparently you are not aware that Canon and Nikon fans have been fighting for decades.

All you have to ask is "which is better?" and the fur will fly.

Canon owners will say Canon.
Nikon owners will say Nikon.

When owners show that much fervor, you know you can't make a wrong choice.

Pick the one you like.

As a journalist, you may want to consider the Canon 20D. It

is more expensive, but its additional features, size and stronger housing may serve you well in a working camera. It's also clearly superior to the D70 and D50.
