Maybe the subject on this one is causing avoidence.. Will start another one along same lines..
I have pretty much decided to get a Sony DCR-PC109, one of the reasons is because of the feature to be able to convert an analog video signal in to digital out, so I can get all my old home videos on to my computer for DVD work (Hi-8mm and, dare I say it, VHS-C). This feature doesn't always show up in the typical specs when I have been looking through similarly priced mini-DV format camcorders.
Are there any others in that price range (~$600) or say a better quality camcorder at a lower price that would leave enough funds left over to buy a decent digital capture device (would have to be external), if there are, what are the suggestions?
