Some get riled about having to shell out for conversion software or latest version of the editors.
After having a horrific time with a JVC camcorder with their stupid proprietary format, I'm in the market for a new camcorder. I'm on a limited budget, trying to keep it under or at least close to $400, so it seems a camcorder that uses Flash memory would be best.
I was looking at the Canon FS100, but it seems I'll still run into file format issues.
What I need to find is a camcorder that I can use with SD chips (or similar, would like to be able to use 8gb or 16gb chips) that will record 16:9 in a format that I can transfer to my PC and do simple editing in Sony Vegas Movie Studio (the basic one) adding a soundtrack and some basic effects for home video.
Tell me it's not unreasonable to be able to pick a couple of widely distributed products off the shelf and expecting them to work together?
