Camcorder to record my band live?

Apr 5, 2006 3:42AM PDT

Looking for a reasonable camcorder that is serviceable in low/ rapidly changing light conditions that will maintain some semblance of audio quality to record live performances of a dance-rock band. The format of the recorder is not important. Any suggestions?

the audio separately, and combine them in the computer. It looked to me, the last time I checked, that the Best Buy type cameras no longer include an audio input connection. Even if they do, they probably will not accomodate serious mics. You DO NOT want to use an in-camera microphone for serious audio recording.

The Sony DCR-HC96 is a good choice, it adjusts very well to different lighting, but you may want to buy a microphone for it, you can attatch one to the acessory shoe.
