camcorder to DVD copy question

Jun 23, 2006 1:23AM PDT

My wife has some videos taken with a JVC camcorder that she'd like to copy to a DVD to give to our grandchildren. I have a DVD RW drive on my PC. Is there a way to do what she wants to do?

With so few details...

I can't tell if you have a firewire connection and would be able to use DVDSanta (google.com) A free demo would help you decide if that is sufficient for your needs.

On the camera or the PC.

If you want to solve this, some details are required.

Bob,

When you don't know what you don't know it's hard to provide details. I apologize for not giving you information that you need, but I really have no idea what your looking for. If you're asking about where I don't have firewire, I know I don't have it on the PC. How would I know if it's on the camcorder? If you can give me an idea of what your looking for in the way of information about my setup, I'll try to provide it. Thanks for your help.

Details such as camera make/model.

Adding firewire to the PC is cheap and solves many issues. About 20 bucks. If your camcorder has firewire then DVDSanta could be tried (the free demo) and see if that does the work.

I can't tell if this is the solution since details are slim in your posts.

camcorder to dvd copy question
Jun 23, 2006 3:45PM PDT

well i have a jvc everio digital camcorder and it came with cyberlink software to burn from your camera either to a file or direct to a dvd. i used it a couple of times but i am still figuring it out. it came with no instruction book but does work good when you learn how to use it

For the Everio try...

Copy the video to the PC via USB (that's all the everio had from one site I checked with). Now use something like DVDSanta (a free demo will answer this) to make your DVD.
