I have a few methods but here's a cheap no-edit method.
1. I use WINDV to capture from the miniDV camcorder.
2. I use DVD FLICK to use those captures to make the DVD.
3. I use DVD FLICK's method to burn the DVD or let DVD FLICK make an ISO I burn later with ACTIVE ISO BURNER.
These are all free titles you find with google so you know I won't reply as to where they are found.
I have a dell inspirion laptop and a sony DCR-HC48 camcorder. I am trying to make a dvd from the dv tapes using this firewire card http://www.amazon.com/2-Port-Expresscard-Firewire-Card/dp/B000RKUKMG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1218403227&sr=8-1
This is the card Dell reccommended.
I have Ulead videostudio and was able to make 2 dvd's although they play on my dvd player the dvd gets stuck and when the tape is captured on the laptop it also gets stuck even though in the camcorder it is still playing.
I also have Media Now but that gives me an error message and Roxio on my laptop doesn't work either.
Has anyone been successful making dvd's from camcorders?
I am wondering if I am using the right firewire card?
I am starting to think it may be easier to buy a recording dvd player and just play my camcorder on the tv and record that way.
Any tips and advice appreciated.
